Airport: Waiting, Meeting, Relaxing . April 2010

Ready for Check-in:

b.link special issue – including news from
Passenger Terminal Expo

Over the past days, more precisely since April 15, waiting at the airport has acquired a new significance: the ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull led to an exceptional situation nobody had on their personal radar – and so for many travellers, airports all across Europe turned by necessity into permanent wainting rooms. This was also a top issue for the media, featuring pictures of rows upon rows of camp beds and critical statements of stranded passengers.

Under normal circumstances, waiting times at the airport can be spent quite pleasantly. At the Passenger Terminal Expo, there was much to see and to report on, among other things the trend-setting option for the take waiting program: power supply directly at the seat, optionally with RFID card – here passengers can hook up their laptops, for example. And the digital monitor which allows the targeted placement of current information.

And that’s why this issue of b.link is a very factual special issue focussing on airports: In order to follow up on all the interesting talks we had at the tradeshow. And in order to present to you the most important information again at a glance – so that you can read it through at your leisure.

Wishing you lots of fun with b.link 4,
yours
